Tuesday's Lullaby

I'm dreaming like I'm gonna live forever
And I'm living like tomorrow I'm going to die
Watching angles run
With my arms around my sons
All a part of Tuesday's lullaby

You can leave that burden by the edge of the sea
At long last light has found the lie
The knot has come undone
Let the main sheet run
In the tumbling waves of Tuesday's lullaby

Set the course before the wind
Fill your waiting sails
Destined for adventure
Fast before the gale
Live to tell the tale

Three children at your feet
No one takes a breath
Least they miss a single word
Of how you cheated death
How the memory of their faces
Gave you strength to try
They became Tuesday's lullaby

There will be a place to rest
A pebble in a stream
Where we can cry the last good-bye
And walk away all clean
And fill up on new dreams

Shuffle your feet down the road
You will be just fine
What you need will find you
In the nick of time

Lie back in the green grass
Look up through the sky
And fall asleep to Tuesday's lullaby
