Summertime Tunes & Upcoming Sounds

Greetings everyone!

It's been a busy time here at the Livingston Taylor HQ! Lots of great music and upcoming shows to look forward to! We capped off the month of July with two back-to-back SOLD OUT shows in fantastic venues with beautiful and enthusiastic crowds.

JULY SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

On July 2nd, Livingston performed at the Southern Vermont Arts Center and then headed to East Meadow, NY to perform at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater.

"Yesterday’s (July 3rd) performance at Eisenhower Park for the Fourth of July celebration, Livingston was spectacular. He ignites his talent, curiosity and creativity into something inexplicably thought-provoking, witty and sensitive. He loves his music and his standards. He rolls with every sound and reacts with love. He holds his followers in his loving hands." - Amy Wohl, Huntington, NY

On July 8th and 9th, Livingston stayed close to home and performed to SOLD OUT crowds at the Fruitlands Museum and the Westport Rivers Vineyard, both located in Massachusetts.

FEATURED FAN MEMORY

Livingston Taylor's music is a relatively recent addition to my life. I grew up hearing James sing "Jelly Man Kelly" on Sesame Street, but it wasn't until I met my best friend a few years ago that I first heard Liv's music. His songs are optimistically honest, like walking on a downtown sidewalk on a sunny September morning - they observe the cracks in the sidewalk and the uneven slabs of concrete in need of repair, but are never hesitant to notice the flowers growing in those cracks, or the sunshine that's just around the corner of the next high-rise.

In the Summer of 2019, I invited Mr. Taylor to tour my "office" - NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Meeting him as a person and getting to talk a little bit about humanity and space travel before hearing him in concert that evening completely changed the experience of hearing his music. Many of his songs are simple, but Livingston Taylor is not. He is a complex, brilliant thinker with two fingers on the pulse of humanity and poetry; and perhaps that is why so many of his songs hold such a deep poignancy beneath their simplicity.

Thank you, Mr. Taylor, for sharing your gift and your thoughtfulness with all of us. You have brightened so many lives with your music. - Jessica Evans

QUOTE OF THE MOMENT

“People come and hear me play because at the end of it, they feel relief from anxiety. They feel better about themselves and about the choices they have made. That’s why they come and hear me play. They’re going to feel better on the back side.” - Livingston Taylor, Manchester Journal, June 29, 2022

Until next time,

Ralph, Julie and Livingston
