Greetings friends,

Goodbye February...Hello March! Livingston is back from Kansas City, MO, where he showcased and spoke at The Folk Alliance International Conference, the world's largest gathering of the folk music industry and community.

Above: Master class with Livingston at the Folk Alliance International conference on February 23rd.

Now the March 1st BBC Orchestra world video premiere! Harold Arlen's (lyrics by Yip Harburg) ballad, "Over the Rainbow", also known as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow", is the 6th, and final, in a series of exclusive BBC Concert Orchestra song releases. The song was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, in which it was sung by actress Judy Garland in her starring role as Dorothy Gale. It won the Academy Award for Best Original Song and became Garland's signature song.

This year, Livingston looks forward to taking his Orchestra show out to live audiences and performing with symphony orchestras all over the country. Liv comes with musical charts brilliantly written by Tony Award winning Broadway and Hollywood composer, Bill Elliott. If you can recommend an orchestra or interesting venue or school for Liv to collaborate with, please be in touch with our office.

TRUEFIRE PRESENTS LIVINGSTON TAYLOR'S
THE STAGE PERFORMANCE PLAYBOOK
Liv now takes his course "on the road"

Livingston Taylor’s Stage Performance Playbook draws on 50 years of experience as a touring singer-songwriter and thousands of hours teaching the art and craft of stage performance as a Berklee College of Music professor. There’s simply no one better qualified to guide your rite of passage on your way to becoming a “great” performer.

This indispensable 5 1/2 hour Stage Performance masterclass includes 52 video lessons, 19 stage performance examples, and 11 homework assignments to help you assimilate the principles and make them your own.

You’ll learn how to conquer your obstacles and fears, engage an audience, and elevate your performances every time. You’ll learn how to keep stage fright at bay, how to draw the best playing out of your bandmates, and how to get past a bad flub onstage. He’ll show you how to internalize a beat to create an environment that captures and holds an audience. You’ll learn the value of coherent melodies, clean chords, crisp stage banter, and so much more.

LIVINGSTON TAYLOR'S QUOTE OF THE MOMENT

"The key was to achieve "good" fame, not "gratuitous" fame. "Think of someone who is famous [due to] really being of service," Livingston says, citing musician/activist Pete Seeger. "I want people loving you because you improve the quality of their lives." - berklee.edu (https://tinyurl.com/y68hnvza), March 3, 2011.

Until next time,
Livingston, Ralph and Julie
