Fellowship and song with Livingston Taylor Friday
Thursday, January 28, 2010
Livingston Taylor is a master of the performing word. After all, he has made his living as a singer-songwriter for about 40 years.
He can also weave a complex, compelling tapestry with the spoken word.
Before sitting down to lunch with members of the Natick Community Organic Farm last Friday, Taylor sat by one of the farm's wood-burning stoves and reflected on that first time "homo erectus" discovered the other powers of fire.
"It's a moment in time when homo erectus gathered around a fire...and someone in that group, poking at the fire with a stick, discovered that you could bring fire home," he said.
